Now THIS is good sorting.
Sherlock’s a Slytherin too. Have you heard his last conversation with Moriarty? “Sherlock, your big brother and all the king’s horses couldn’t make me do a thing I didn’t want to.” “Yes, but I’m not my brother remember? I am you. Prepared to do anything. Prepared to burn. Prepared to do what ordinary people won’t do. If you want me to shake hands with you in hell I will not disappoint you. […] I may be on the side of the angels, but don’t think for one second that I am one of them.”
That’s what this entire show is about, isn’t it? Sherlock bursting into tears to get a victim’s wife to talk. Sherlock shouting at the nanny to make her talk faster. And Sherlock deleting common knowledge about the solar system out of his head to make room for more important things (Ravenclaw? Never!). But most of all Sherlock convincing Moriarty that he is him, in order to stop him. And Moriarty forcing Sherlock to kill himself anyway by doing what he did, that clever bastard. Those cunning folk use any means to achieve their ends.
“You’re me.”
